Harwichport Golf Course is the kind of track that reminds you why you fell in love with golf in the first place.
A nine-hole municipal gem tucked into the heart of Harwich Port, it delivers an easygoing, classic Cape Cod experience that’s both charming and deceptively challenging.
There are no bunkers (which is certainly refreshing!), but there are numerous grassy mounds that serve as formidable course defenders.
This is old-school golf—no frills, no gimmicks, just a pure walk with your clubs in one of the best settings on the Cape.
Playability
BIRDIE
Harwichport is short, walkable, and fun—ideal for beginners, juniors, or anyone looking for a casual round.
Measuring just over 2,500 yards from the tips, Harwichport might seem like a pushover, but don’t let the short yardage fool you.
With tight fairways, small greens, and enough strategic mounding and fall-offs around the greens to keep you honest, this little muni demands accuracy over brute strength.
Views
PAR
This isn’t an oceanside course, but it still delivers that quintessential Cape Cod feel.
The course is nestled in a quiet, residential area, with mature trees lining the fairways and the occasional glimpse of Nantucket Sound just beyond the property.
It’s not jaw-dropping, but it’s classic Cape charm.
Vibe
BIRDIE
Laid-back, unpretentious, and welcoming. Harwichport is the kind of place where you’ll find everything from retirees strolling the fairways to kids getting their first taste of the game. No dress codes, no attitudes—just friendly locals, summer residents, and vacationers squeezing in a quick nine before heading to the beach. It’s golf the way it was meant to be played: simple, social, and stress-free.
Condition
BOGEY
For a municipal course, Harwichport is in surprisingly good shape.
The greens roll true (though they can be a touch slow at times), the fairways are well-maintained, and even in the dog days of summer, the course holds up better than you’d expect.
That said, this isn’t a country club—expect some thin lies here and there and a few patchy spots, but nothing that takes away from the experience.
Practice Areas
DOUBLE BOGEY
Minimal at best.
There’s a small putting green near the first tee, but if you’re looking for a full warm-up, you’re out of luck.
No range, no short-game area—just grip it and rip it.
19th Hole
BOGEY
Harwichport is light on post-round amenities—there’s no full bar or clubhouse restaurant, just a small pro shop with drinks and snacks.
But being in the heart of Harwich Port, you’re only minutes away from some of the Cape’s best spots for a post-round bite or beer.
Logo
BOGEY
To be fair, this course is not in the game to sell merch. We like the logo’s nod to its many trademark mounds, but we’re not sure everyone gets the reference…
Memorability
BIRDIE
Harwichport isn’t the kind of course you’ll talk about for years, but it has an undeniable charm that makes it worth coming back to.
The short layout, friendly vibe, and (usually) quick pace of play make it an ideal place for a casual round with friends or family.
Leave the ego at home, and enjoy the kind of golf that makes Cape Cod special.
It’s not going to change your life, but it’s the kind of course that fits perfectly into a Cape Cod summer—play a quick nine, hit the beach, repeat.
