Cranberry Valley Golf Course

It is hard not to get bogged down in the character and challenge each hole presents.

Design

EAGLE

Designed by renowned architects Cornish & Robinson (The International, Quechee Club, Norton CC.)

Often, elevation tricks people into seeing a hole’s character, but Cranberry Valley’s character shines while being relatively flat. Each hole makes you appreciate the design and the unique challenge at hand.

Intense mix of dogleg lefts and rights - even a few double dog legs - keeps it interesting throughout.

This is not a “bomb and gouge” course, nor is it a “station to station target” course. Cornish & Robinson found the happy medium and what results is an opportunity to hit fun shots while employing strategy that fits your ability level.

Playability

PAR

Very little water, but plenty of strategically placed (and deep) bunkers and mounds.

Popularized by Pinehurst, there is very little rough, but lots of pine straw.

Higher handicappers will like the lack of deadly areas, but low handicappers will like that a premium is placed on hitting your spots to set up the angle of your next shot.

Surprisingly walkable. Most tees are not far from greens and the elevation changes are manageable.

Views

BIRDIE

No dramatic views of the surrounding areas, but deep bunkers and pronounced, mature mounding creates unique visuals throughout.

Lots of sand and pines create quintessential Cape Cod landscapes.

Vibe

BIRDIE

Refreshingly un-stuffy.

Friendly, welcoming staff and signage that made us feel like they wanted us to be there.

The design of the holes and the condition made us feel like we were playing something special.

Condition

EAGLE

Impressive from tee to green.

We played right after they punched the greens, but we could tell that these greens were legit.

Practice Facilities

EAGLE

A practice area that rivals Bayberry.

Driving range, chipping area, lesson area, and picturesque putting area.

A bit too on-the-nose and clip-arty for our liking.

Memorability

BIRDIE

It was a treat to know that we’ll remember Cranberry Valley most for the holes themselves.

These holes are not gimmicky, but just well designed and different from other courses.

We bet you’ll walk off the course planning your next crack at how to change your approach to multiple holes, but especially the horseshoe routed par 5, 18th.
