Hyannisport Club
A glimpse behind the gates…
JFK’s favorite track, Hyannisport transcends the sport in that it is as much as an icon in American history as it is in the golf world.
Ride if you must, but this feels like it was a course built to stroll.
On the shorter side, but forces you to make shots. Being exposed to the ocean, the wind can make the course play dramatically different from day to day, even hole to hole.
Woven between marshlands and the ocean inlets, you are surrounded by water. Despite all of the water, the breezes keep the exposed fairways and greens mostly firm and fast.
There are multiple forced carries over marshlands and a few fun risk-reward holes where you can play it safe or try to make a heroic approach.
You are not just going to overpower this coure, you need to hit shots
Quintessential Kennedy, Cape Cod, old money vibe. Tucked just past the Kennedy compound, you know you are in a special area before you even arrive at the course.
Off the charts views of marshes, ocean, oceanside wildlife, and the east coast elite.
There’s no bad time of day to play this course, but if you get the opportunity to finish your round as the sun sets, you will not be disappointed.
