Quality, convenience, and value: an experience fit for a King!

Design

BIRDIE

Kings Way is a neighborhood community with a Brian Silva gem as its town green.

With all that Cape Cod offers vacationers, 4+ hour marathon rounds are often not an option. This is an executive course that tips out at 3911 yards, but similar to Southers Marsh these are 18 real holes.

Cleverly, there’s a 9 hole option that can be played in less than 90 minutes.

While much different from the Brian Silva monsters like Red Tail, Waverly Oaks, and Shaker Hills, you can see Silva’s influence on many of the holes.

There are lots of fun bunker layouts and many shots where you can feel Silva daring you to takes risks.

There are thirteen par 3s, four par 4s, and one par 5.

Playability

BIRDIE

The executive course is rare in MA, but it can provide a nice respite from some of the 7000 yard monsters out there.

The course touts its popularity with families, seniors, and women. But this is a fun track for all ages and abilities.

This is a great track to work on your irons, but don’t leave your driver in the trunk - there are some good par 4s (and a very reachable Par 5) too.

At under 4000 yards, it is certainly walkable, but the routing is a little quirky in spots. There are several spots where you need to walk a considerable distance between green and the next tee.

Views

PAR

The notable views are of the course itself - not necessarily the surroundings.

This is course built into a community, with houses or condos visible on all holes. It can feel a bit like a Florida course in a retirement community.

Unlike a Florida course, there are a some surprising elevation changes on this small course which presents some great downhill views and fun shots.

Vibe

BIRDIE

Kings Ways presents less of a tourist vibe than some other spots on the Cape.

Given its setting, embedded within a Cape Cod community, it feels family friendly. It’s the kind of place where you expect to see multiple generations of golfers.

At times, it can give off a retirement community vibe - especially as you pass the tennis and pickleball courts the are intertwined with the course.

There are membership options, but it is open and welcoming to the public.

Condition

BIRDIE

Excellent. We played in January and the course played like it was early fall. Other than the lack of leaves on the trees, it was in incredible shape tee to green.

We were thoroughly impressed how green the fairways were - especially compared to some other tracks.

Greens: even in January the greens were rolling perfectly!

Practice Areas

BOGEY

A victim of limited space, there are limited practice areas.

There’s a small range that’s out of the way. It feels like more of an amenity to community members than a warm-up area for weekend players.

19th Hole

There’s a full Italian restaurant that serves both the community and the course. The restaurant has a patio that overlooks the 9th green.

Logo

BOGEY

The logo is a bit boring and clip-art-ish for our taste. It feels incongruous to the fun, family-friendly vibe of the course.

Memorability

BIRDIE

Brian Silva’s courses are unique and memorable and King’s Way is no different.

What is different is that King’s Way give you a glimpse at this uniqueness in a much more approachable (and affordable) way than other Silva courses.

There are lots of longer, more challenging courses on the Cape, but King’s Way presents a quality, convenience and value that are hard to ignore.
