Pocasset delivers everything a Ross fan wants: compelling greens, tough decisions, and a whole lot of drama.

A glimpse behind the gates…

Pocasset Golf Club is a beautiful representation of all that is Donald Ross.

Your round starts with a gentle handshake, fairly accessible par 5.

Impeccable greens (likely directly due to the diligence of the @greenskeepah), many with multiple tiers and most with Rossian false fronts. There are some fascinating pin placement options.

The front nine reminded us of Whitinsville or Worcester Country Club because of its openness. There are a couple points where you can scan most of the first nine holes.

While the first nine are impressive, we think the course actually gets better as you go along!

The back nine surprised us with some unexpected drama. There were some long straightaways, downhill drives, uphill approaches, and lots of compelling bunkering that dared you to be brave.

Unfortunately for most, getting on this gem is tough as the membership tends to skew older and spends most of the year out of town (think Naples). But, if you get the chance, Pocasset is an absolute must play.
