Waverly Oaks

The course that started drawing public golfers to Plymouth in 1998 is still rock-solid and relevant as ever.

Design

EAGLE

Designed by local guy and Top 100 designer, Framingham's Brian Silva.

So much character. Each hole makes you appreciate the design and the unique challenge at hand.

Deep bunkers and deep forest creates lots of places to get into deep trouble.

Playability

PAR

Very little water, but forced carries over fescue, forest, or waste area can make some holes really tough for some high handicappers.

4 sets of tees. If in doubt, we recommend teeing it forward to increase your enjoyment level.

Not walkable at all. Some tees are a considerable distance from the previous green.

Greens were true: fast, but fair.

Views

BIRDIE

While not quite as dramatic as Pinehills, the elevation changes allow for some impressive views of the course… and the oaks.

Because each hole is carved out of the oak and pine forest, each hole feels like its own distinct experience.

Vibe

BIRDIE

All around, a fun, friendly experience. Friendly, helpful staff, including a starter who gave us some helpful tips.

Each of the holes is cleverly named giving you a hint of what's to come.

Seeing the names of the upcoming holes creates some added anticipation (or anxiousness) of what looms next.

Condition

EAGLE

Exceptional from tee to green.

Some of the truest greens we’ve seen - rolling perfectly.

State-of-the-art carts with GPS.

Practice Facilities

BIRDIE

Awkward driving range, but plenty sufficient to get you warmed up for your round.

A small bucket is included in your greens fees and ready for you in the back of your cart!

Putting and chipping green adjascent to Hole #1 for some last minute short game work prior to teeing off.

19th Hole

EAGLE

Beautiful, large clubhouse that is high-end wedding quality.

Lots of outdoor seating overlooking the “The Coliseum’s” 18th green.

Logo

Minimal logo is classy, and will look good on a wedding invitation, but it didn't make us rush to buy merch.

Memorability

EAGLE

Waverly Oaks was one of the first courses to put Plymouth on the map as a golf destination. Now Plymouth is a bit of a Massachusetts golf mecca as Crosswinds, Pinehills, Waverly Oaks (and several of the most reknown private clubs) are all within a few mile radius.

The local competition between the Plymouth courses has obviously kept them all at the top of their games.

Waverly stood out due to its unique, fun holes that each play as a singular, distinct challege.

Unlike other courses where your memories of your round can blend together, you'll remember how you did on the unique and well named holes like "Double Trouble," "Saddle," "Down," "Eternity" or the "Black Hole."
