Willowbend
A glimpse behind the gates…
Willowbend is a pristine showcase of classic Cape Cod features: water views, massive soft sand traps, cranberry bogs, marshes and ponds, island greens, even quintessential New England wooden buildings/structures throughout.
The three 9-hole courses are called Bay, Bog, and Bend. Each has some similarities, but some unique characteristics and feel as well.
You’ll never get bored here as there are seemingly infinite ways to play. You can mix and match your nines and there’s an Old and Championship routing as well!
The practice area is highlighted by one of the best ranges we’ve encountered so far. There are great raised target greens with lots of distance options and a TopTracer tracking system that you can access on an app on your phone.
The greens are impeccable: fast, fair, and true. There are lots of undulations in the greens, but they are more subtle than circus.
You’ll want to ride, as some of the distance between the holes can be lengthy.
While not overly long, there are a ton of obstacles that force you to be accurate. There are lots of tee box options - 6 per hole - that present a wide range of hole distances.
Careful not to get too distracted by the picturesque views. There’s a lot to look at, but the golf is challenging (and the course lined by multi-million dollar homes) so pay attention!
